Slightly later than normal, as we have had an unseasonably warm end to September that continued into October. Therefore, we unexpectedly extended our summer offering for a few more weeks.
But, with the autumn leaves now in full flow and colder winter days upon us, this means only one thing for us – our open fires being fully operational, bringing that warm and cosy feeling to the pub.
Unlike some of our fellow hospitality establishments, we have approached the festive season slightly differently. We have all been there – set menu choices for Christmas dinner and selections made well in advance. However come the day, our taste buds are singing a different tune and we year for something else.
Therefore, we don’t ask for pre-orders – hopefully this also saves someone the added administration of trying to collate everyone’s choices.
Our chefs in our Maidstone-based pub and restaurant feel that you should be able to choose from our full menu at any point in the year – so why should the lead up to Christmas be any different.
If you still crave roast turkey and all the trimmings, we are more than happy to oblige from our list of Christmas Specials and if you want to indulge in any other finely crafted winter warmers, they are also on offer to you – just order directly from the menu on the day.
When booking please specify if this is a specific Christmas dinner celebration and we will adorn the tables with crackers and festive cheer for you.

We are also offering great room rates on overnight stays in our Kent-based hotel with beautiful winter walks on our doorstep. Wrap up warm for an outdoor adventure and then come back to the pub to enjoy the cosy vibes and food on offer.
What’s more, New Year’s Eve at The Black Horse Inn has become a night to look forward to – see out the old and welcome in the new in style! There may even be some dancing involved if you so wish.
