The demand for electric cars is on the up. According to Zapmap, at the end of September 2023 there are now around 900,000 fully electric cars on UK roads. 2022 saw a 40% growth on 2021.
With this, it’s becoming ever-more important that the UK infrastructure for EV charging comes along on this rapid journey. No more so than hotels and places to stay over night. The need to cater for this growing market is becoming stronger and stronger. Again, according to Zapmap, as of right now there are around 1,640 charging locations associated with accommodation and hotels. One of which is the Black Horse Inn, our hotel and countryside pub and restaurant based in Thurnham, Maidstone, in Kent.
Catering a more sustainable future
The Black Horse offers a safe and secure environment to charge your vehicle either overnight when you stay with us or for longer periods during the day.
Right now, we currently have two EV charging points at our hotel for guests to use. However, we will be installing three brand new EV charge points in the next month or so.
As more people choose electric vehicles to reduce their carbon footprint, we want to make eco-conscious travel as easy as possible. By providing EV charging stations, we empower our guests to make greener choices while on the road.
We know that traveling can be stressful, and worrying about finding the nearest charging station can add to that stress. With our on-site EV chargers, you can recharge your vehicle conveniently during your stay, ensuring you’re ready to hit the road hassle-free.
The Black Horse Inn has always been committed to exceptional service, and our new EV charging stations are just one more way we’re enhancing your stay. It’s all part of our mission to provide an outstanding and eco-friendly experience for our guests seeking a hotel in Maidstone, Kent. Eventually we would love to offer fast charging units and this is something that we are working on!
